2010 Junior Duck Stamp Program and Contest
Deadline: March 15, 2010
The Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program teaches wetlands and waterfowl conservation to K-12 students.
The program incorporates scientific and wildlife management principles into a visual arts curriculum. Each participant
completes a Junior Duck Stamp design as their visual "term paper".
2010 Great Backyard Bird Count
February 12-15, 2010
An annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds. Scientists use the counts, along with observations from other citizen-science projects, in their work. The GBBC is led by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society.

Coastal Counties Restoration Initiative
Deadline: March 29, 2010
This partnership between National Association of Counties and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) helps counties restore coastal ecosystems and remove barriers to fish migration. Projects are community centered and work with NOAA’s Community-based Restoration Program which provides technical assistance. Grants range from $50,000 to $100,000.
CELCP Competitive Funding Opportunity for FY 2011 - Now open
Deadline: April 9, 2010
The Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program (CELCP) provides grants to eligible state agencies and local governments to acquire property or conservation easements within a state's coastal zone or coastal watershed boundary. Interested parties should contact the appropriate state CELCP lead for additional information on state project solicitation processes.
National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program—2010 grant deadline announced
Deadline: June 25, 2010
The program provides state agencies with financial assistance to protect and restore coastal wetland ecosystems through (1) acquisition (conservation easement or fee title), or (2) restoration, enhancement, or management.
